Given the wide range of research and development activities that are going on in the instrumentation laboratory at IUCAA, we are often looking for motivated people who could contribute to and augment our work.

Please keep an eye on the Opportunities page, if you are interested in working with us. In addition to staff positions, we offer projects that could form part of the curricula for courses like M. Sc., B. Tech., M. Tech. etc. Students can also work on Ph. D. programmes on instrumentation and technology development for astronomy. Please see Student Programmes for more details. Ph. D. students enrolled elsewhere could also work in the laboratory on projects of mutual interest. IUCAA also has a vigorous postdoctoral programmes and those with interested in instrumentation are encouraged to apply.

You could also contact lab staff ( directly for more details and exploring short term opportunities. While maintaining competency in our core strengths in R&D, we welcome collaborations in new technology development as well as instrument building. Exchange programmes of staff, students and postdocs and jointly organized meetings, schools etc. offer other avenues for joint activity.
